I caught the final portion of this film recently and hesitate to watch the rest. It has nothing to do with the sourcing of the book or film, either. It has to do with being a faithful adaptation. I read this book and was interested in how it would be presented on screen. I thought the casting was interesting even though I knew it would be a hit job on every liberals favorite punching bag, Palin. But when I watched it, I saw nothing of half the book.
Yes, it went into great detail on Palin and her pick. But a good portion of the actual book covered Obama vs Clinton and some salacious episodes on Edwards that were by then old news. The National Inquirer somehow reported that story at the time and no one in the major media wanted to check on it. Apparently that wasn't dramatic enough for this film either.
Thus, this review will be short. I will give Ed Harris credit for a credible job portraying McCain. Moore wasn't bad as Palin, but Fey does her better. And Woody needs to go back to the pipe. No portrayal of Obama, Clinton, Biden, Edwards or anything else about a large portion of the book. One has to ask why? That is all.
