Bart Hall, a guest author over at Winds of Change has an extremely interesting post up looking at our current war vs. terrorism as part of a longer war - one he dubs "the third Hundred Years War. You simply must stop by and read the whole thing. It is interesting that we continue to try and find how this current war fits in the larger scheme - whether that is as a fourth World War, which some are uncomfortable using as a name even if it may fit in many ways, or as Hall calls it above. It is at least good to see some out there trying to put terrorism into perspective rather than simply calling it a one and out situation. It never was and it never will be. After all, you can trace the "root causes" of 9/11 at least as far back as 1983 or 1979, if not earlier. It helps to place the current world and our actions in the histrocial perspective as much as we can. It might even help our decision making going forward, at least I hope so. That is all.
