Titled such since that's all you've been getting from me lately. But first, a picture:
One could possibly use the title to refer to this unfinished house since there seem to be a lack of worker bees and such surrounding it in the shot. But suffice it to say, it is being worked on by my Pop and the only other worker bees are myself and a couple of other family members. A good old fashioned barn raising, except it's not a barn and we aren't the Pennsylvania Dutch. As mentioned before, I'll be going out there for the weekend to assist some more. And if there was ever silence, it can be heard in the woods surrounding this shot.
As for the light blogging, well, I just have not had much to say. What, you don't wish to opine on L'Affair Plame? No, sir...no I don't. I'd rather have a root canal, frankly. I'm sure there is something there...but what, I know not. There just does not seem to be any there there. Maybe when more is known, I can look back on it and decifer...but not now. It bores me silly.
But surely, sir, you wish to have your say on Alito. Hmmm, what is there to say yet? The confirmation hearings don't even start until January, something that does bother me a bit. God forbid our public servants be made to work around their busy holiday schedules like we have to.
Well then, how about the recent push by the Democrats to discover exactly how and when Bush lied. Recent? That's not recent. It's been going on for as long as I can remember, and I am tired of explaining the same thing over and over again. If you want my take, it can be found in the two years worth of archives I have to the right. Shameful? Yes. If you want to read someone that has more to say about it at this point, though, you should perhaps visit Donald Sensing.
Umm...how about the Pajama Party? The what? You know...what are they calling it...Open Source Media. Oh, that. Yeah, well...I don't recall them inviting me...and they won't link to me in their blogrolls either so their ads do me little good. Moxie and Althouse are on top of it, and they don't seem to get it either. I guess I'd say...meh.
Certainly you wish to speak on the recent baseball awards then. Well, I'm glad Roger lost, mad that Big Papi lost and sad that Andruw lost. But the awards were pretty much expected to fall that way, so it was no big surprise. I'm glad Bobby won, though. Even if he can't get his team over that next hurdle.
Well, what about...what about... Yeah, that's kind of where I'm at. I'm having enough trouble writing my western, much less trying to find something new and original to say here. When I do, rest assured I will post it. It's not that I don't want to. I just have nothing interesting to say that has not already been said by others, and perhaps said better than I might have. And the news cycle is just so slow. When the 2006 races start heating up next year, I'll have a few things to say, and some places to link to. And when the holidays are over and hearings start for Alito, I'll get to know more about him and thus have something more reasoned to say, though I can already say that I like what I see. And as the hot stove league takes off, I'm sure I will want to talk about that.
Outside of that, I don't know that it does much good to keep repeating myself. But I will say - I don't know that I like the recent GOP move in the Senate to try and get a better handle on the war exit strategy. I don't mind the idea of Congress exerting their oversight, but it's a dangerous game to play with terrorists. They really don't care about a time table...only that we die. I'll keep reminding anyone that will listen. This war is a long one and Iraq is only one front. I might echo General Honore - "Don't get stuck on stupid." That is all.
