First, we have a team that has a city, a stadium and now a name (almost)...but still no owner. Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the Washington Nationals. (Hat-tip to NRO) When will MLB get serious about this team? It's been a joke from start to finish. I hope it's soon. At least Washington was the city it went to. It's been too long without a team.
And here we have possibly the shortest managerial stint in the history of baseball - The Diamondbacks have fired Wally Backman after hiring him just four days ago. Hmmm. Is this a professional sport or a sitcom?
And lastly, something touching, or sad, or disgusting - I don't know, you be the judge. William Weinbaum and Jeremy Schaap go through the final hours of Ken Caminiti's life. What a waste. That is all.
