Wow - I picked 21 out of 24 correct, only missing Best Actor, Best Film Editing and Best Short Documentary. In fact, I had a perfect record until they announced that last one. Never done that well. Really wanted Bill Murray to win Best Actor, and had even decided I would be OK if Depp won, but I guess I can live with Sean Penn (of course he couldn't keep from mentioning something about WMDs.)
As for the show itself, it was pretty flat until the end. The highlight of the night was the Mitch and Micky song. Other than that, it was kind of boring really. I'm happy Peter Jackson finally got his due and LOTR:ROTK tied for most wins (with Titanic and Ben Hur). It was a clean sweep.
Now we start looking towards next year's show. I have already decided Jim Caveziel and Maia Morgenstern will be among the nominees as should Mel Gibson and The Passion of The Christ for picture, cinematography, art direction and perhaps costuming. Visual Effects and make-up should get a nod as well. Outside of that, I don't think we've seen any others that can contend. Of course we won't until December, as usual. That is all.
