It's beginning to look more and more like the intelligence was wrong prior to the Iraq war. Kay has quit and I don't see much being done to rectify what failures we may have in intelligence. I do, however, find this interesting. Are some weapons in Syria? Kay has suggested this, though he still says these are most likely not large stockpiles. More to come, I am sure.
By the way, the lack of WMDs does not, in any way, make justification for the war any less. The fact was, our intelligence was just like everyone else's (including Clinton's team) - we all thought he had them. He did nothing to disprove this. Thus, we had to act to make sure that this was the case rather than allow a possible transfer of suspected weapons to terror groups. Let's be clear about that. Further, I seriously doubt the average Iraqi is pissed that no weapons were found and now thinks we should allow Saddam back into power. What about you?
Andrew Sullivan has a few words about it too.
That is all.
