More hijinks with Bush's judicial appointments. Byron York has been on top of it from day one. This time it is truly disgusting. I do put some blame on the current leadership in the Senate for not enforcing filibuster rules (so what if everyone must be there around the clock - call them on it!), but attacking an appointment just because they have a different view of how government works is simply wrong. Most of the judges filibustered have either shown their capacity to rule according to established law or have answered their questions in such a way as to prove their ability to separate their personal feelings from points of law and precedence. If this is how the game is played, remember this behavior the next time a Democrat President tries to appoint a judge under a Republican Senate. That is all.
